TAXILA: Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday announced his decision to contest elections on both provincial and national assembly seats from Taxila putting to rest all the rumours that he will not contest elections from this constituency.

He was addressing a big public meeting at Salargah. It was his third address to the public meeting in the area during the last eight days.

Addressing another public meeting after inaugurating gas supply to union councils Usman Khattar and Gari Sikandar, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said he had never compromised on principles.

He said he remained loyal to Nawaz League as he had been in the party for the past three decades whereas his opponents had changed three parties.

Without naming his rivals (PTI leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan) he said they were doing politics for their own interests and had never given mega welfare project to the people of the constituency. Mr Khan said public service was the mainstay of his politics.

He said PML-N had selflessly served people in each of its tenure and provided mega projects to them without any discrimination. People could not be served through speeches or slogans but one had to work hard for it, he said.

“We believe in public service and the journey of serving the masses will continue in future as well,” he added.

He said that he regarded serving the masses a sacred duty and the objective of his politics was only to ensure welfare of the people of the area.
