MURREE: Natural gas is being supplied to various Murree Town union councils on the directive of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

The Charehan New Murree, Rawat, Angoori and Sehr Bagla union councils are being supplied gas, and over Rs15 million have been transferred for Mr Abbasi’s constituents, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Hafiz Usman Abbasi told the press.

He said former prime minister and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif had promised the people of Murree that natural gas would be supplied to every village in Murree.

Gas is being used in Ghora Gali, some parts of union council Musiyarri, Garayal, Murree City, Sunny Bank, Kuldana, Sandiyan Lower Topa and other areas. He said construction is being carried out in this regard in the Darya Gali union council, adding that by the end of the year nearly 80pc of Murree’s population, most of whom live in rural areas, will be supplied gas.

Ensuring the supply of gas in Murree will protect the environment and reduce the number of felled trees.
