KARACHI: A young man was killed on Saturday night when armed assailants on a motorbike attacked his car in Defence Housing Authority, officials said.

Intizar Ahmed, 25, came under fire at Khayaban-i-Ittehad. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Dr Seemin Jamali, executive director of the hospital, confirmed his death. He sustained multiple bullet wounds, she added.

Investigators collected over one dozen spent bullet casings from the crime scene, said Clifton SP Dr Asad Malhi.

Initial probe revealed that Mr Ahmed was travelling with another person but the man disappeared from the crime scene, said the SP. The CNIC found in the victim’s pocket showed he was a resident of Defence Society but later it emerged that he was not living at that address.
