BAHAWALPUR: The Speedo bus service was launched here on Tuesday on the directives of the chief minister.

A fleet of 12 buses will be plying between Lodhran and Bahawalpur University’s Baghdadul Jadid campus on Hasilpur Road.

The bus service was launched jointly by Municipal Corporation Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi and Deputy Commissioner Rana Saleem Afzal at a ceremony held at the general bus stand terminal.

The bus fare has been set at Rs10, Rs20 and Rs30 depending on the distance a passenger. However, people would be able to travel for free for the first two days, according to a press release issued after the event.
