TAXILA: The Punjab government has appointed Inspector Asghar Chandia as the circle officer of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Attock.

According to a notification issued by the provincial government, he would also look after the affairs of Chakwal district.

Suspected car-lifters arrested: Police here on Tuesday claimed to have busted a two-member gang involved in lifting vehicles. Two vehicles and Rs4 million cash were recovered from the suspects.

Subdivisional Police Officer Fatehjang circle Ambreen Ali said a police team led by SHO Saqib Abbasi busted the gang and arrested its two members identified as Noorul Ameen and Hamyun Shah, natives of Hangu. She said during an interrogation the suspects confessed to snatching vehicles from various parts of the country, including Hazro, Bassal and Fatehjang.
