KARACHI: The players’ hostel adjacent to the Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium has been completely renovated and was formally inaugurated by the president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar the other day.

The PHF president, who was accompanied by the vice-president Tariq Huda and a couple of former Olympians, formally unveiled the plaque and offered dua.

The PHF chief later went around the facilities and expressed his satisfaction.

The 32-bed hostel have four rooms and each of them is equipped with eight new beds, in-built cupboards and split AC’s. The toilets have also been upgraded.

Meanwhile, the renovation of officials’ rooms inside the stadium is in progress and will be completed soon. Upon completion, it will have facilities of 18-beds.

It is pertinent to mention that the players who used to stay in the hostel during training camps, were always found complaining of lack of basic facilities and piling up of water in the toilets.
