CHARSADDA: A Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl provincial lawmaker from Charsadda has joined the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf after a meeting with the party’s chairman Imran Khan in Banigala, Islamabad on Tuesday.

MPA Fazal Shakoor Khan, who was elected from PK-17 constituency on JUI-F ticket during the 2013 general elections, held a meeting with PTI chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday evening and announced joining the party.

Fazal Shakoor told Dawn on telephone from Islamabad that he had quit his party and joined PTI.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, provincial ministers Atif Khan and Shah Farman, MPA Arif Ahmadzai and PTI district leaders were also present during the meeting in Banigala.

It is worth mentioning here that Qaumi Watan Party MPA from PK-18 constituency, Sultan Mohammad Khan, had also quit his party and joined PTI after a meeting with Imran Khan a few weeks ago.

Sources said that incumbent lawmakers who had quit their parties would be fielded in the upcoming elections from their respective constituencies.
