QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has pledged to address reservations of the people of Gwadar on development and all other issues and said there is no concept of development without addressing people’s reservations.

Addressing an ‘open kutchery’ at CM House in Gwadar, the chief minister said his government would resort to legislation to defend the legitimate rights of the people of Gwadar district. “Hearing and addressing people’s concern is the governance in its real sense,” he observed, adding that he was keen to approach people and solve their problems.

The chief minister specifically issued instructions to police and local administration to take stern action against drug menace in Gwadar and its surrounding areas, after he received the complaints against a powerful mafia active in drug business. He instructed the police chief and the deputy commissioner to eliminate all drug dens in Gwadar and purge the area of the menace within a week. He asked the officials to submit a progress report to him in this regard.
