ABBOTTABAD: The district police on Monday started probe into the death of an 11-year-old girl on the directives of Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mehsud.

The girl, Misbah, along with her elder sister was employed at the house of Shoaib Ghani, the brother of Higher Education Minister Mushtaq Ghani.

Three days ago she was brought to the district headquarters hospital, Abbottabad, for emergency treatment where she could not survive and lost her life in the ICU.

The family of Shoaib Ghani claimed that Misbah and her other family members were the chronic patients of asthma and some months ago her four-year-old brother also lost his life due to the same disease, while his brother and father were also suffering from the same ailment.

The IGP Mehsud took notice of the death of Misbah after the news was broadcast on the media, and ordered inquiry into the incident.

Police told mediapersons that up till now the family of the ill-fated girl had not contacted the police for the probe. Police are also waiting for the medical report to start investigation into the case.
