Indus Academy boys, girls win basketball openers

KARACHI: The Indus Academy opened their campaign with a double success in the retired Brig Rashid Ali Malik memorial inter-school (A-Levels) boys and girls basketball championships at the Arambagh court on Wednesday.

The Indus Academy chalked up a low scoring 20-9 victory over the Beaconhouse North Nazimabad in the boys category.

Danial Dada finished in duble figures with 10 while Taimoor Saeed contributed eight. Zaryab Khan chipped in two points to complete the rout.

Maaz and Ajwad Sheikh scored six and three respectively for the losers.

This was Beaconhouse North Nazimabad’s first defeat in the two outings. They had defeated the City School Pechs on Tuesday in the group D.

Following the footsteps of their boys team, the girls also gave a winning start to the Indus Academy by outplaying Beaconhouse North Nazimabad 16-4.

Arfa Khan made her mark with a tally of 10 for the winners. She was followed by Sheezal Iftikhar four and Hiba Faraz two.

Tooba Younus and Sundus Khalid shared four points amongst themselves for the losers.
