Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday sent his best wishes to Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar for opening up a new restaurant.

Dar, a respected figure in world cricket and arguably the greatest umpire to come out of Pakistan, recently decided to foray into the foodservice industry.

And bucking him up for the big business venture was Kohli who, in a video message, said: "Hello Aleem Bhai I have heard that you have opened up a new restaurant...many congratulations on that.

"I wish that your restaurant becomes just as successful as you are an umpire."

Kohli, one of world cricket's biggest stars, continued: "I have also heard that you want to make a school for deaf children through the earnings of this restaurant so I hope that you accomplish what you want to accomplish. I encourage everyone to go and try his restaurant."
