LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday extended physical remand of Kasur’s suspected serial killer and rapist for two days as Counter Terrorism Department officials sought more time to complete investigation in Zainab rape-cum-murder case.

Earlier, the officials produced suspect Imran Ali with his face covered before the court under strict security arrangements.

The investigating officer told the court the suspect had taken Zainab to an under-construction house where he sexually assaulted her and later killed her.

To a court’s query, the officer said the police collected all evidence, however, further custody of the suspect was required to complete the investigation.

ATC judge Sajjad Ahmad accepted the request and allowed two-day physical remand of the suspect. The other day, the court had granted three-day remand of the suspect to the police for interrogation in seven other cases of rape-cum-murder.
