SUKKUR, Jan 7: The Sukkur Nazim, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, held a meeting at the DCO office and reviewed security arrangements the other day.

The DCO, Sukkur, Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi briefed the Nazim about the support to be extended to the Pakistan Army by the civilian administration.

The DCO said that a control room was being set up at the Nazim’s old DC office. He directed the assistant controller, civil defence, Sukkur, to start rehearsal of sirens and blackout and keep the volunteers ready.

The EDO (Health) was directed to ensure availability of beds, medicines, blood, and ambulances. The EDO (Works and Services) was asked to arrange bulldozers and other equipment to be used in case of an emergency.

The TMOs of Sukkur, Rohri, and Pano Aqil were directed to keep the fire-engines in good shape.

The people have been advised to contact the control room immediately if they saw anything suspicious.
