Four new Frozen songs set for release

Four new songs written for the Broadway musical Frozen are scheduled to be released on consecutive Fridays, beginning February 23.

Oscar-winning, song-writing team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez announced the music-release strategy at BroadwayCon.

“The four new songs include ‘Monster,’ a new Act 2 solo for Elsa; ‘What Do You Know About Love?,’ a new duet for Anna and Kristoff; ‘Dangerous to Dream,’ a new interior monologue sung by Elsa; and ‘True Love,’ a new Act 2 solo for Anna,” a news release said.

The songs will be recorded by the Broadway cast, featuring Caissie Levy as Elsa, Patti Murin as Anna and Jelani Alladin as Kristoff. The stage musical adaptation of the 2013 animated movie will begin performances February 22 at the St James Theatre.

Spider-Man sequel is looking for a female villain

There is still not much information about the sequel, however, it is said that Homecoming 2 is attempting to cast a female villain character.

And the two most prominent possibilities that seem to come to mind are the expert thief, Black Cat and the mercenary, Silver Sable.

Then again, there are other female characters who could potentially fit this bill. The European setting of the film lends a certain amount of credence to the possibility of Jessica Drew, a.k.a Spider-Woman, entering the equation. There have also been rumours that Gwen Stacey would make an appearance in the film.

The film is slated to debut on the silver screen on July 5, 2019.

The Detective Pikachu Movie has added another great star

“Gotta catch ‘em all” -- that’s the basic concept behind the Pokemon franchise, and with a live-action Detective Pikachu film currently in development, it also looks like the series is taking that approach to star power as well. The cast of Detective Pikachu has slowly come together in recent months, and it looks like it has officially grown by one more.

Batman Begins star Ken Watanabe has officially signed on to portray a character named Detective Yoshida in Rob Letterman’s Detective Pikachu, which is expected to begin shooting later this month. Not much has been revealed about the Academy Award nominee’s character, as it’s a brand new role designed for the film itself. But given his status as a detective, we can reasonably assume that he may have a close relationship with the one and only Pikachu.

Based on the popular Japanese gaming franchise, Detective Pikachu focuses on the mysterious disappearance of Tim Goodman (Justice Smith)’s father. Unable to crack the case by himself, Goodman enlists Detective Pikachu to help him get to the bottom of the mystery and bring his dad home.
