LAHORE: Regional offices of the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) in 18 districts should be established by the end of the next fiscal year while performance audit be conducted of all the healthcare establishments issued regular licences.

A directive to the effect was issued at the 36th meeting of the Board of the Commissioners of the PHC here on Saturday.

Attended by Commissioners Dr Muhammad Ajmad Saquib, Dr Zafar Iqbal, Ms Clara Pasha, Ms Bushra Ijaz, Dr Naeemuddin Mian, Prof Rakhshanda Rehman and Arif Saeed, the meeting unanimously elected for the third time retired Justice Aamer Raza Khan the board chairperson for the next three-year term.

The board meeting approved grant of regular licences to 472 healthcare establishments for showing good results in implementing the Minimum Service Delivery Standards.

Expressing satisfaction over the PHC performance, the board instructed that campaign against quacks should be expedited.

The board also analysed the third party evaluation report of the PHC and expressed its satisfaction.
