Nepal holds army day reception

Ambassador Sewa Lamsal Adhikari and Defence Attaché Col. Hem Raj KC hosted a reception in Serena Hotel to mark Nepal Army Day recently. Maj Gen Farhat Abbas Sani, DG Air Defence and Arms Branch, was the chief guest on the occasion.

During the event, a video titled ‘Nepal Army at a Glance’ was screened which highlighted activities of the country’s military, such as its participation in UN peace keeping missions. The army’s assistance after the earthquake in 2015 and other national disasters were also highlighted.

The guests on the occasion included defence attachés from Saarc countries and elsewhere, along with other diplomats and senior members of the Pakistani society. Also, several of Pakistan’s former ambassadors to Nepal attended the vent.

The buffet dinner offered several dishes from the Nepalese cuisine along with Pakistani dishes.
