KHAR: Security forces foiled a terrorism bid in Bajaur Agency on Monday by killing two suspected suicide bombers during an intelligence-based operation near the Pakistan-Afghan border, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Officials told Dawn that the two bombers were killed during the search operation in the hilly Gatki area of Mamond tehsil, some 22km from Khar, which is the administrative headquarters of Bajaur Agency.

The operation was launched by security forces soon after they received information that two suicide bombers had entered the region from the Afghan province of Kunar and were trying move towards Khar, officials said.

In a statement confirming the incident, the ISPR said the suspected terrorists entered Bajaur Agency via the Kagha Pass.
