QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said the government is extending full support to all institutions working for the welfare of children and the eradication of polio.
Talking to a delegation of Unicef led by Regional Director of South Asia Jean Gough here on Thursday, Mr Bizenjo said the provincial government was working hard to make Balochistan polio free province. He said that in view of the backwardness and poverty of the province, the government was making special efforts to ensure best use of available resources.
The Unicef delegation discussed with the chief minister polio and other health-related issues.
The CM expressed the hope that international institutions would give special attention to Balochistan because of its backwardness. He said the government was utilising all its resources for restoring the law and order, increasing standard of education and providing basic amenities to the province’s people.
