ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf has said he will return to Pakistan before the upcoming general elections.

According to a statement issued here on Thursday, retired Gen Musharraf was speaking at a press conference in Dubai where he confirmed that he would lead a party in the polls.

Though, he said, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) opposed his return and was continuously creating hurdles for him, he was not scared to come back because the judicial atmosphere had changed and now he could hope for justice.

He lauded the Supreme Court for its verdict barring Nawaz Sharif from heading the PML-N, saying he believed in ‘Pakistan First’ and that it was the right time for him to return to the country.

Replying to a question, the former president said he would decide at the right time whether he should land in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad.
