Calm prevails in Sukkur jail

SUKKUR, May 13: a complete calm prevailed in the central jail, Sukkur, and no untoward incident took place on Friday. The Inspector-General of Prisons, Sindh, Brig (Retd) Ayaz Mughni, reached here on Friday and reviewed the overall situation in the prison at a high-level meeting.

The superintendent of the Sukkur jail, Mr Aashiq Bozdar, told newsmen that there was complete calm in the prison.

He said the inmates were in their barracks and some of them were sent to the court.

In response to a question, he said that it was up to the IG prisons to decide whether to register a case against the rioting prisoners.
