Libyan Ambassador Sadek A.S. Osman hosted a reception to mark Libya’s 4th Revolution Day on Feb 17, which was attended by Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain as chief guest.

Before the celebrations began, a farewell lunch was held for Pakistan’s ambassador designate to Libya, retired Maj Gen Sajid Iqbal. The event was attended by the group of envoys from African countries, including the group’s dean South African Ambassador M. Jele.

Palestinian Ambassador Walid Abu Ali, who is a member of the group, was also in attendance. He recently returned to Pakistan from consultations at home, following a controversy.

The only woman from among the African group of envoys, Somali Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, also attended the event.
