Defending Pakistan Super League champions Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday confirmed that their captain Darren Sammy and batsman Harris Sohail will be out for a couple of days after picking up injuries.

Days removed from helping his side defeat Quetta Gladiators with some clutch hitting in the final over, Sammy's leg injury sidelined him from action.

"[Sammy] was injured in Zalmi's last game," a tweet on the official PSL Twitter account reads. "He is consequently ruled out of action for the next few days and will continue his recovery process with the Zalmi squad."

Any concerns regarding Sammy missing the entire tournament were eased when the player himself said: "I don't have pain and I'm hopeful. I'm a soldier, I'm a lion, I'm a tiger, I'm a yellow star. Even if I'm on a stretcher I will still come back."

Zalmi had earlier in the day revealed that they will be without the services of Sohail, who is nursing a hand injury he picked up during practice.
