BATTAGRAM: Two people were killed when a car skidded off the road and fell into a river in Battagram district in the wee hours on Saturday. According to police, the car on its way to Gilgit veered off the road when the driver lost control over the steering at a sharp turn in Chanjal area. As a result, two men on board the car were killed.

The victims were identified as Zahoor Ahmed of Sargodha district and Farrukh Zaman of Hafizabad district of Punjab.

Chanjal police station in-charge Mir Afzal Khan along with constables rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident, retrieved the bodies and shifted them to the DHQ hospital Battagram.

The victims’ relatives told Dawn on phone that Ahmed was a wildlife department photographer and worked for National Geographic channel, while Zaman had an advertising business in his hometown.
