SWABI: The police on Saturday arrested a youngster for looting Rs1 million from a house and recovered Rs700,000 from him.

District police officer Sohail Khalid told mediapersons that a few days ago, Altaf Khan, a resident of Barakhel Cham area of Topi city, had registered an FIR in the city police station, saying that Rs1 million had been looted by unidentified robber from his house.

He said he had put the amount in a box and the robber had broken the locks of the house as they were away in Peshawar.

Altaf suspected one of his neighbours, Jawad Khan, was allegedly involved in the robbery.

The DPO said a police team led by DSP Topi Haidar Khan arrested Jawad, who during investigation told the place about the place where he hid the money.

Police registered an FIR against the robber.

PTI CRITICISED: Former MPA Dr Yasmeen, and Dr Mohammad Jaseem, former district president of Malgary Doctoran, said on Saturday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan’s demand that the next Senate chairman should be from Balochistan and deputy chairman from Fata had negated his tall claim that he had given importance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday, they claimed that PTI’s agenda was quite different from what they had been telling the people. Dr Yasmeen said people had now become aware that PTI leaders were misleading them.

“We have decided to run a campaign to educate people about the wrong policies of PTI,” she said.

Dr Jaseem stressed the need for unity among Pakhtuns to struggle for their rights.
