Ice cream cones are usually every child’s favourite dessert, especially in the hot summer months. What if I tell you that you can have your favourite dessert always with you even in school?
Yes, it is possible. With this nifty little pencil topper, you will be reminded of this icy treat every time you use a pencil.
Things you need:
Acrylic paints (because they dry fast; but you can use normal watercolours).
One bottle cap
Glue stick
Scissors or pen-cutter
Paint brush
Hot glue
A piece of paper 3-inch width and 2-inch length
Directions:
Mark the centre of the bottle cap (the size of pencil width) and with the help of an adult, cut the centre out; pictures 2 and 3.
Take the piece of paper and gently fold it from the middle to shape it like a cone, then glue both the edges; pictures 4 and 5.
Put the bottle cap inside this paper cone and gently press it to give the crease and get an idea of the size of the cone according to the size of the bottle cap. Cut it out; pictures 6, 7 and 8.
Use watercolour or nail polish (if your mum allows you) on the bottle cap, and let it dry, picture 9.
Insert the pencil and secure it with hot glue. Put the paper cone on the cap and glue it all around. Leave it to dry, picture 10.
Make layers of hot glue around the paper cone until you reach the top, picture 11.
Note: Every time you make a layer let it dry first and then start with the next layer. Otherwise, all the glue will mix and make a big mess.
Take the paints of your choice to sprinkle your ice cream cone, including the main white colour, picture 12.
Make sure the glue on the cone is dry. Start painting white first and let it dry, pictures 13 and 14.
Paint small thin lines (the size of sprinkles) with the colours you want, picture 15.
Your cute ice cream cone pencil topper is ready!
