PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced that electric supply will remain suspended for two to six hours in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on March 20 (today) and 22 (Thursday)due to maintenance on transmission lines.
There are complaints in some areas of Peshawar that power suspension is causing problems for gas consumers as power suspension also causes to gas outages.
SNGPL general manager Saqib Arbab told Dawn that the people used substandard gas power generators with very poor efficiency, which was badly hampering flow of gas otherwise there was no shortage of gas in the province.
He said the gas issues were related to the ongoing work on the Bus Rapid Transit project.
According to a statement issued by the Pesco, power supply will remain suspended from 132KV Peshawar University grid station on March 22 from 9am to 3pm and therefore, the consumers of 11KV Rahatabad-I and II, Ghareebabad, Achini-II, old Bara Road, Abdara, Sufaid Dheri, Danishabad and Jamaluddin Afghani feeder will face inconvenience.
Also, power supply will remain suspended from Peshawar city grid station from 9am to 12pm, affecting 11KV Faqirabad-II and Zaryab feeder.
Also, the power suspensions will be observed in Shabqadar, Kohat, Nowshera, Pabbi, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Jhangira, Buner, Daggar, Dargai and Jalala areas.
