ISLAMABAD: Eighteen officials of the capital police were demoted for their bad reputation. Besides, three years service of nine constables was also forfeited.
According to police sources, the 27 officials had been served show-cause notices in December and asked for explanation about their bad reputation and for extorting money.
All the officials – one inspector, five sub-inspectors, seven assistant sub-inspectors, five head constables and nine constables – denied the allegations.
In response, their service records were checked which showed that almost all of them had earned bad entries and were placed under suspensions on serious charges. On consistent reports of misconducts and poor service records, the senior superintendent of the police (SSP) decided to demote the officials.
