HARIPUR: The Haripur police on Saturday conducted mock exercises in the office buildings of various government departments to test the preparedness of the force for combating emergency situations in the wake of any terrorist attack.

According to a police spokesman, following a recent threat alert received to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, the Rapid Response Force and regular police had jointly conducted mock exercises in Haripur University, China Camp, district courts and the district secretariat.

During the course of the exercises, the areas remained cordoned off. The purpose of the exercises, according to the police spokesman, was to ensure police force’s preparedness meant to provide security to the people and public properties in case of any untoward incident.

DSP headquarters Mohammad Sabir led the mock drills.
