HYDERABAD/MIRPURKHAS: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examinations, 2018 will start in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions on March 27, according to officials announcements made by the boards concerned on Sunday.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad chairman Prof Dr Mohammad Memon said at a news conference at his office that 232 centres had been set up in 10 districts — Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Tando Mohammad Khan, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad -- to hold the exams in Hyderabad division. The exams were scheduled to conclude on April 9, he said.

The controller of examinations, Dr Masroor Zai, said that a total of 137,746 candidates — 87,000 boys and 50,746 girls — had submitted their forms to appear in the exams. He said the practicals would be held from April 10 as per the notified schedule.

Mirpurkhas BISE chairman Prof Barkat Ali Haidery also announced the same date for the start of the SSC-I and II in Mirpurkhas division.

Speaking a press conference at his office, Prof Haidery and controller of examinations Anwer Aleem Khanzada said that 128 centres had been set up across the division to accommodate 65,844 male and female candidates appearing in the exams.
