PESHAWAR: The provincial directorate of culture launched the first ever Peshawar Writers Club here on Tuesday.

Director culture Ajmal Khan, deputy director culture Shahbaz Khan, senior writers and journalist Saadullah Jan Barq, Nasir Ali Sayeed, Mushtaq Shabab, Dr Abaseen Yousafzai, Qari Javed Iqbal and others were present at the launching ceremony held at the at culture directorate’s auditorium, according to a statement.

The languages and literature specialist Abrar Hoti gave presentation on the prescribed ToRs of the writers club. He said the club would work to explore the skills of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa writers and would provide an opportunity and ideal platform to them for their professional growth.

Mr Hoti stated that the club would remain open for writers during official timings for debates and literary discussions.

Writer Saadullah Jan Barq appreciated the establishment of the writers club and said it would be a great opportunity for promotion of young writers.
