PML-N's lawmaker from Thar Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has decided to defect to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), DawnNewsTV reported on Friday.
Dr Vankwani, who is also the chief patron of Pakistan Hindu Council, informed Dawn that he would make a formal announcement during a press conference on April 7 at Bani Gala in the presence of PTI chief Imran Khan.
The lawmaker said he has taken the decision "to serve the people of Thar and the rest of the country by joining hands with Imran Khan", who according to Dr Vankwani was "struggling [to bring] a real change in the lives of people".
Dr Vankwani said he was "fed-up with the PML-N 'quaid' for his [anti-judiciary] stance and aggressive policies", and remarked that the PML-N government had "made Siddiqul Farooq chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) illegally".
The MNA said he was invited by senior PTI leaders to join their party and he took the decision after consulting his supporters.
The announcement comes a day after Dr Vankwani had accused the government of violating merit in appointments during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services (NHS).
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Dr Vankwani said the PML-N government had claimed that the heads of corporations would be appointed on merit and through a proper mechanism but never implemented the same.
“I have raised the issue in front of Nawaz Sharif over the past five years because I was not scared of him. I am the head of Pakistan Hindu Council and Nawaz Sharif needs me, I don't need him,” he said.

It would be better if all the voices of reason could converge into "filtering out the corrupt" from any part or any institution. Political parties should only represent the ideology it stands for; members however, should conduct their business with utmost transparency.
Corruption is not a Political Party specific issue, it's a people specific issue who can belong to any political party, ideology, religion or race. That, is the essence of democracy.

He is a corrupt and selfish politician who is always ready to use minority card. Anyone can join PTI but hopefully leadership is smart enough to know that he is there for his own benefit and he doesn't have much support of Hindu community as he portrays it. He can probably get 500-1000 votes in Islamkot city ONLY, nothing more from anywhere else. He was on reserved seat MNA on PML-N. Hopefully, PTI will award their reserved minority seats to their loyal members and Not to this lota. He is a big thug, ask local people from his area.

Sharifs have done a lot better than PPP.
However, after 40 years, it is time for Sharifs to go and hand over the reign to new leaders. 8 years are enough.
It does not mean if Sharif formed the party, he is the owner for life. Cowardice MNAs do not challenge or elect new leader. Do now for next election.

Wrong decision Mr Ramesh bcaz Imran Khan is always against Hindus living in Pakistan. Imran spoiled cricket career of former ex-Pakistani cricketer Anil Dalpat. We have never seen Imran coming forward and wishing Holi or Diwali to the Hindus living in Pakistan.

with PMLN until yesterday and today has decided to
join PTI. One really fails to understand how can he
serve the down trodden people of Thar from PTI's platform as PPP is the most powerful political party
in Sindh. PPP will never tolerate the existence of any
other political party in Sindh. Finally, Dr. Ramesh Kumar has put his own political career in jeopardy by
switching from PMLN to PTI.
