HARIPUR: A young man committed suicide in Darwesh village here on Wednesday, police said.

The police quoted Khalilur Rehman, a resident of Darwesh village, as saying that his son Qasim, 22, was working as daily wage earner at the local vegetable market.

They said that according to details Mr Rehman and his son both got up at around 4am and started preparing for the morning prayers. After performing ablution, Qasim went to the guestroom and after a few seconds his father heard the gunshot and then found his son bleeding from temple.

He was taken to the DHQ hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. The complainant said that he didn’t know the reasons for the suicide by his son.

However, the police have launched investigations into the case.
