MANSEHRA: A schoolgirl, who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted, has complained to the police after the suspects circulated the crime footage on social media.

The girl lodged an FIR with the Balakot police claiming she was kidnapped by Mohammad Sajjad, owner of a local guesthouse, and Mohammad Abid when she was on the way to school in Balakot some three months ago, and both sexually assaulted her afterward.

“They filmed the assault and threatened to kill me and circulate the video on social media if I report the assault,” she said.

The girl said the suspects later circulated the footage on social media endangering her life.

Investigation officer of Balakot police Abdul Rasheed Khan said both suspects had secured pre-arrest bail from a local court after the police registered an FIR against them. He said that the medicolegal examination of the girl had confirmed sexual assault.

“We have got hold of the footage and sent it to the lab in Peshawar for technical analysis,” he said.

He said that the police were also investigating if suspects were involved in more such crimes and if they’re found guilty of that, those crimes would also be made part of the FIR.

The investigation officer said that both suspects were booked under PPC sections 376, 292, 293 and 506.
