PML-N's Bilal Virk announces defection to PTI

PML-N Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Sheikhupura, Chaudhry Bilal Ahmed Virk, has decided to join PTI, DawnNewsTV reported on Saturday.
The lawmaker formally announced his decision after meeting with the PTI chief at his residence in Bani Gala, Islamabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Virk expressed complete confidence in PTI's leadership and the party's manifesto.
"Imran Khan is a beacon of hope for the people of Punjab [who want] to rid the province of corruption," Virk said, adding that: "A certain family has robbed Punjab and the entire country of its resources for their personal gain."
It was quite clear he was referring to the Sharifs.
Criticising the family, he said they had "disrespected parliament and attacked government institutions to hide their own misdeeds".
He further accused them of rendering parliament "practically irrelevant" and said they had adopted "the practice of misusing parliament to mar the Constitution and threaten government institutions".
Virk stressed that the country did not need chaos and instead was in dire need of accountability "from the thieves looting it".
He claimed that Khan had become "the voice of the entire nation, especially the people of Punjab" and was confident that the future belonged to PTI and Pakistan.
The PTI chief welcomed Virk and his supporters into the fold.
"April 29 is the day to raise the foundations for a new Pakistan," he said.
Imran said that the people of Pakistan were ready to declare their support for the judiciary and institutions.
He also voiced his appreciation for the chief justice and his team for having made accountable a "powerful mafia".
Reiterating Virk's statements, he said that the Sharifs "had forced the nation into slavery, poverty and ignorance to amass wealth for their children".
"An era of ideological politics is returning to Pakistan," the PTI chief said before triumphantly adding that blackmailing institutions and escaping accountability will no longer be tolerated.

Dooms day for PTI. PTI never realized very first time that people are not interested in seeing same faces with different symbols as the much hyped CHANGE can not come with just replacing IK with NS while the rest of team would be the same.

Virk sb timely move. But after few years establishment will be after IK as well if he dared to do any work for Pakistan. Bow IK and PPP are stars cause both are same in terms of how devastated they have left both Sindh and KPK owing to non performance. So welcome to bunch of non performers. But you are forgetting that NS has amassed quite a popularity. You can see this in lodharan where despite unknown person standing he won cause of NS name and defetaed tareen and IK. Good luck to you. People are not going to vote that you sleep and crticize rather on work which is pretty obvious for PMLn

All bailing out of a sinking ship of PML-N. With NS bound for jail and banned for life, the outlook for the party does not look good.
It is wishful thinking on NS's part to hoist his daughter or ailing wife as a replacement for him as dynastic musical chairs to carry on his family's mission of loot and plunder to retire in the UK comfortably! All indications are NS will be sitting in jail for 10-20 years at least. Rest is all secpulation and pipe-dreams.

This is where Imran Khan lost the plot of Naya Pakistan. He should not be welcoming politicians from other parties in PTI. Just because someone switch parties does not mean he became honest all of a sudden. A lot of corrupt people have left PML and PPP and joined PTI. They will continue their corrupt practices now under PTI’s banner.

I still hold the hope that PTI is our best option as we have tried the rest, look where has it taken us? But I sincerely hope that IK understands that our time served politicians' have no principles they are just opportunists and just go which ever way the wind blows!
IK should enlist some unknown 'wildcards' expats who are brought in from outside to stand against the well known opposition, purely on their merit for being good honest for governance! High risk strategy but with good publicity could pay dividends!

@Miraaj your correct about sindh.But kpk has performed. Please look at Dunya survey's contiuncy survey by habib akrab( an ardent Pmln supporter) . you live in punjab and you talk about KPK. There is almost 70 percent approval rating in kpk/ THe problem with you is that you guys feel that mega project equal developent when it does not . Proper health care, police and education at the ground level is what performance looks like. By ground level, i mean the interior of the province not major cities. Kpk's performance is uniform meaning that there is a good local body system that providing services at most ground level

@Miraaj lahore in not punjab . You have to understand that. Pmln's margin of win in by election in the south and central punjab is only 6 percent . if pmln was so popular the margin would have been 50 to 60 percent in the elections. Incumbency plays big part. Please go to the south. In kpk, all district are uniformally bieng developed . Metro although important does not equal development. Education, health and police is true development

When you find out your political future is in jeopardy, because your current party is about to go down, you jump ships. I like to hear these guys changing parties why they didn't do that before Nawaz Sharif was ousted ? Why now ? What changed all of a sudden? There is no loyalty in politics, these politicians prove it everyday, of course I'm not referring to the heads, the guys who started their parties.

I think it is time for younger and more enlightened generation of Pakistan to come forward and play leadership role. Gen. Musharaf, President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharief have played their role.
