ISLAMABAD: Irfan Saeed of Wapda will face Murad Ali of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in men’s singles final of National Ranking Badminton Tournament on Monday here at Rodham Hall of the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Irfan defeated Anjum Bashir (SNGPL) 21-19, 21-16 while Murad downed Abdul Rehman (Wapda) in 21-13, 21-14 in the semi-finals.

Earlier, in the women’s singles event Mahoor Shehzad (Wapda) and Sehra Akram of the same department reached the final after defeating Bushra Qayyum (Wapda) and Ghazala Siddique (SNGPL) respectively.

Mahoor eased past Bushra comfortably 21-4, 21-7 while Sehra defeated Ghazala Siddique (SNGPL) in well contested three sets 20-22, 21-17, 25-23.

In women’s doubles Mahnoor paring with Saima Waqas (Wapda) and Ghazala & Zubaira (SNGPL) reachedthe final after defeating Bushra and Mehmoona (Wapda) and Sehra and Huma Javed (Wapda) respectively.In the men’s doubles semi-finals Irfan and Azeem Sarwar defeated M. Ali Larosh and Nouman (SNGPL) 19-21, 21-15, 21-9, while in the second semi Rizwanand Kashif (NBP) beat Attique and Raja Hasnain (Wapda) 21-10, 21-19.
