Pakistan retained the top spot in the annual International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 cricket rankings after delivering stellar performances in T20 tournaments over the past year.
The top two spots on the rankings remain unchanged, with Pakistan leading the pack with 130 points and Australia close behind with 126 points.
“There were, in fact, no changes in the top seven positions, but the big development was down at number eight, where Afghanistan are the new entrants,” the ICC said in a statement.
India attained the third position after gaining two points to reach 123, and are followed by New Zealand, who have retained their 116 points. England (115) have gained a solitary point and stand at number five.
Sri Lanka which had earlier ranked eighth slipped to the ninth spot after losing four points.
Bangladesh were ranked 10th in the list followed by Scotland, Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Oman and Ireland.
The green shirts have been riding a wave of success in the T20 format, their most recent win against the West Indies in a three-match series staged in Karachi this year.

Indian players are about to get one million dollars for each IPL match but Indian team is behind Pakistan and Australia in the world ranking. I am happy Pakistan's PSL is producing better results than IPL.

Understand your edginess on T20 top spot. We need to fix PCB and soon in coming years ICC ODI and Test rankings will improve. It will take some time. Until then enjoy superiority over Pakistan which you lacked for most of the 80s, 90s and some of the 00's.

Test Cricket is all that matters, hate 20/20, all other BS like IPL, PSL, etc. all these players are Whoring to make money. Both India and Pakistan abandoned all other sports and still can't dominate the game as WI done in the 70's and Aussie in 90's.

all the players are young and got place in national team playing in PSL and have experience of playing T20 more than the other format of game. after of few test and ODI series team will also get good position in ICC ranking .

@Ravi Why do you care about the test and ODI ranking of Pakistan???? Don't you have enough severe problems in India, with the largest number of people under poverty (below poverty level) according to the latest UN report. With the dirty smell as soon as you get out of Mumbai airport and filth all around in the financial capital of India (not to mention even worst condition outside Mumbai), Indians need to worry about their own problems before taking satisfaction on someone else's problems.

TEST Result summary between Pakistan and India: Pakistan won 12 and India won 9.
This is the reason India want to avoid to play with Pakistan.
