ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday took suo motu notice of the killing of six labourers who were fixing a mobile phone tower in the Liji area of Kharan district in Balochistan.

The gun attack by unidentified motorcyclists on Thursday night left six labourers, belonging to Okara, dead and another one injured.

It was also reported that almost one and a half years back, chairman district council of the same area was kidnapped and his whereabouts are still unknown. Taking notice of the two incidents and the security lapse in the region, the chief justice issued notices to the Balochistan chief secretary and the inspector general of police and scheduled a hearing on the matter for May 11 at the Supreme Court, Quetta Registry.
