TAXILA: Ex-interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday announced that he will contest election from Taxila’s NA-63 constituency.

He was addressing local PML-N leaders and chairmen of various union councils at a hotel. MPA from Taxila Umar Farooq and PML-N leader Sheikh Zeeshan Saeed were also present on the occasion.

Chaudhry Nisar said although he had announced to contest election for one National Assembly and two provincial assembly seats, he had not finalised his decision.

He said now he had decided to make it public that would be contesting from NA-63.

The constituency comprises Taxila, Wah and some union councils of Chakri.

However, he did not disclose whether he will contest polls as an independent candidate or from the party platform.

He said he appreciated the sentiments and support of the people of the area that made him want to contest from this constituency.

Earlier, local PML-N leaders, in their speeches, urged him to contest the upcoming elections from NA-63.
