MANSEHRA: PML-N MNA Mohammad Safdar has failed to end differences between the party’s two leaders in Mansehra district as MPA Salah Mohammad Khan is adamant that he will contest elections against federal minister for religious affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf in NA-13.

Mr Salah recently developed differences with Mr Yousuf over party issues and announced he would contest National Assembly election against him in his constituency as an independent candidate.

Mr Safdar, who is also the son-in-law of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, recently met Mr Salah and asked him to patch up differences with Mr Yousuf.

However, the MPA remained adamant and kept campaigning for himself in NA-13 as an independent contender.

Sources claimed that Mr Salah was in contact with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership for ticket to contest elections in NA-13.

PML-N district president Zafar Mehmood N told reporters that the party would issue a show-cause notice to MPA Salah for campaigning against the party’s election candidate Mr Yousuf.

He said the party had offered the MPA to contest election in PK-33 and PK-34 constituencies but he turned down the offer.

“Salah Mohammad continues to campaign as a NA-13 candidate without the party’s consent, which is unacceptable, and therefore, the party is initiating action against him,” he said.

The PML-N district president said MNA Safdar tried in vain to convince the MPA to work jointly with Mr Yousuf for the party.

He said the party’s central president Shahbaz Sharif and provincial president Amir Muqam were annoyed by Mr Salah’s misconduct.
