The Corvette Grand Sport by Chevrolet is a delight to watch on the road with its ultra-flat nose, the super short cabin and finally the chunky rear.

With 343 kW of power and a top speed of 290 km/h, the Corvette zooms right into the major league of sports cars.

It’s a sight to behold, even when stationary.

The Corvette Grand Sports’ awesome appearance is guaranteed to turn heads. It’s a hybrid of the base model C7 Stingray, which donated its engine and the high performance ZO6 version, with its wider stance.

The regular Corvette is a rare sight in Europe, but this version, with an almost 9cm wider body, is truly exotic.

The interior has an array of details fashioned from carbon fiber. Then there’s the upscale Nappa leather upholstery, competition sports seats with red safety belts and a sizeable display in the middle of the dashboard.

Drivers who have never sat in a Corvette before might wonder where the door handles are. Well, instead of regular handles there is this recess. Just put your fingers in, press the sensor, get seated and get going.

Insides of the Corvette feel like they have been tailored for the driver. The 8 inch digital cockpit has a range of custom settings. It includes a little symbol, V8 or V4, telling you whether you are driving with 8 cylinders or 4, thanks to cylinder deactivation.

The rear-wheel drive super sports car with a 7 speed manual transmission needs just 4.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

The Corvette Grand Sport tops out at 290 km/h, giving the driver plenty of fun at the wheel and a racing car feel that is not to be underestimated.

This is sports car driving at its finest, with a great 6.2 litre 8-cylinder engine, high precision steering, great brakes and an adaptive suspension. So it doesn’t always have to be a rock hard ride and you can have a more relaxed journey with lots of fresh air.

There’s a choice of 4 driving modes, from Eco up to Race. But even when driven with restraint, this beast will never be an angel on the emissions front.

The springs and stabiliser bars are taken from the far more powerful Corvette ZO6. A limited slip differential and Brembo brakes give the Corvette Grand Sport brilliant vehicle dynamics, with plenty of grip and directional stability, plus an engine that will never let you down.

A dash of Ferrari at the front, and an orchestra of sound at the back with 4 exhaust pipes, the first Corvette Grand Sport hit the road back in 1963. Today a bullet like this will set you back around 100,000 EUROs.

Nothing to be sneezed at for sure, but considering the competition in this league, choosing a Corvette could save you between 30 and a 100 grand.
