GUJRAT: PML-N MPA from Gujrat Chaudhry Ashraf Deona has formally joined the Pakistan Tehreek-i- Insaf (PTI) after a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Bani Gala in Islamabad on Tuesday.

PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Punjab president Aleem Khan were also present at the joining ceremony.

The joining is being termed an achievement of the PTI in Gujrat district where the party has been struggling to win loyalty of a lawmaker of the ruling party.

However, the PML-N local leaders have downplayed the desertion of Deona, saying Deona, who became an MPA for the first time on the their party ticket, had earlier remained in the PPP and then in PML-Q before joining the PML-N and changing loyalties ahead of every election is his habit.

Mr Deona has reportedly ditched the PML-N after being sure that chances of his getting the PML-N ticket in next general elections were bleak.
