ATTOCK: The Deputy Commissioner of Attock, Rana Akbar Hayat on Friday issued special instructions to all assistant commissioners (AC) of the district to control prices of edibles during Ramazan and monitor the security measures taken in all markets and Ramazan bazaars in the district.
Talking to Dawn, AC Attock Marziya Saleem said a Ramazan bazaar has been set up in the city to provide edibles at a subsidised rate, adding that the quality of products will also be checked. She said tehsildars and municipal committee officers are also making surprise visits to the bazaar to check on quality and prices.
A complaint cell has also been established in the bazaar while civil defence personnel and those of Rescue 1122 will be on the premises as well. Police contingents have been deployed for providing security.
Ramazan bazaars have also been established in other tehsils of the district including Jand, Pindigheb, Fatehjang, Hasanabdal and Hazro.
