NAWABSHAH: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will address a public meeting in Nawabshah on May 30, according to PML-N Sindh president Shah Mohammad Shah.

Mr Shah told journalists at the residence of a party leader here on Sunday that the senior Sharif and his daughter would be visiting Nawabshah on the invitation of PML-N divisional president Syed G.M. Shah.

He said that PML-N president Mian Shahbaz Sharif had paid six visits to different cities of the province within weeks and he would continue to visit Sindh towns.

He said that Hussain Shaheed Suharwardi, Mufti Mehmood, Khan Abdul Wali Khan and other leaders were also branded traitors in past and now Mian Saheb too had been charged with treason.

He claimed that pre-poll rigging was being made and the entire world knew about it. Everybody could see with his own eyes how political parties were being pressurised and people were being forced to change loyalties, he said.

“Despite the fact that we had serious reservation we gave a go-ahead to election process because we want continuity of democratic process and we don’t want election to be delayed even for a single day,” he said.

He said that when PML-N took over government, suicide attacks and terrorism activities were order of the day but the government gradually eliminated the menace.

Loot and plunder, extortion and killings were rife from Kashmore to Keti Bundar and businesses and industries were shutting down when the government led by Nawaz Sharif decided to put its foot down and take action against outlaws to restore peace, he said.

Rangers were admittedly on the forefront of Karachi operation but it was the government’s decision so the credit went to it, he said.

He said that conditions in Karachi had got better, people had peace of mind now and business activities were flourishing because of return of peace.

Mr Shah claimed that PML-N government had gifted Karachi-Hyderabad and Sukkur-Multan motorways and work on Hyderabad-Sukkur section of the motorway was in progress. Green Bus service and the largest water project in Karachi were also PML-N government’s achievements, he said.

He said in answer to a question that armed forces were part of the government and he stood by the standpoint of his leader.
