LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Sunni Ittehad Council and Majlis Wahdatul Musalmeen have asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take all parties into confidence for free and fair elections.

SIC Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza and MWM Deputy Secretary Information Nasir Abbas Sheerazi called on PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and former deputy prime minister Pervaiz Elahi at their residence here on Wednesday to discuss political and electoral situation in the country.

Chaudhry Shujaat said the 2013 elections were not impartial and that was why all parties had called them ‘RO election’. The ECP should take all parties into confidence for holding transparent, impartial and fair elections.

Pervaiz Elahi said the caretaker prime minister and chief minister should also be non-controversial. “All parties should have trust in them otherwise questions will also be raised on 2018 elections,” he said.
