Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and opposition leader Maulana Lutfur Rehman have reached an agreement to install Manzoor Afridi as the caretaker CM of the province, DawnNewsTV reported on Saturday citing sources close to the development.
Afridi, who is the brother of Senator Ayub Afridi and uncle of Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi, looks set to assume temporary charge of KP once the incumbent provincial government completes its five-year term, according to DawnNewsTV sources.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has also reportedly signed off on Afridi taking over as the KP's caretaker CM.
An official announcement in this regard is expected to be made later this evening or on Sunday.
A businessman by profession, Afridi is venturing into politics for the first time. His sibling, Ayub is a member of the PTI and was elected a Senator in the elections held on March 3.

I thought PTI has a position that caretaker PM should not have been directly or indirectly related to a political party. Why it’s not right for PM but good for CM. I suppose it is ok because he is brother of PTI senator.

Do we always have to have the brother or sister or cousin of high influential to be the caretaker...do we not have sensible and educated people in the province...like university prof or honest common educated citizen.. The system cannot be biased if the representative is associated with either current government or a political party...folks...The influential man is the successful man, whether he be rich or poor but why never a poor one we select...

The guy with zero experience in politics or in public office is going to hold the highest political rank of the province. Where is the so called change? Afridi's brother is a PTI senator and as per the rules he cannot be a caretaker CM. Besides, it is now proved that whoever is rich, has the bright chance of becoming decision maker in PTI.

Dynastic democracy is if someone chosen as a leader without credentials, replaced and installed on hereditary basis alone more like Maryam. What’s wrong in someone’s brother being in politics, in fact family members can represent to different parties if they difference of opinion. This guy never was in politics and is being installed as CM with Opposition’s agreement, a constitutional process.
