KARACHI: Sindh Police remained on course to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 33rd Karachi Gymkhana Ramzan Cricket Festival for the Omar Associates Trophy with a clinical 84-run rout of Quetta Gladiators Academy at the KG Ground here on Saturday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Sindh Police amassed 202-3 on the back of 116-run partnership between Fazal Subhan and Shaharyar Ghani, who to the crease at the fall of the third wicket at 84.

Fazal scored 69 from 46 balls with the aid of five fours and two sixes, while the left-handed Shaharyar struck four sixes and two fours in making an unbeaten 53 off only 33 balls.

Opener Gohar Ali had bashed a quickfire 44 with his 25-ball innings containing six fours and a brace of sixes.

Quetta Academy, in reply, were dismissed for 118 in 18.4 overs with opener Abdul Hannan Khan making a 29-ball 43 that included four boundaries and two sixes.

Leg-spinner Farooq Hasan grabbed four wickets for just 11 runs but it Gohar who was declared man-of-the-match since he also made two stumpings.
