OKARA: For the four National Assembly (NA) seats and eight Punjab Province (PP) seats of the district, 17 and 35 people have applied for the tickets to the Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) respectively.

For NA-141, PTI MPA Masood Rubera and former state minister Samsam Bukhari are in the run. Under the constituency fall PP-190 and PP-183. For PP-190, Hammad Kharl, union council chairman Ali Yaseen Joya and PTI founder member Habibullah Kharl have applied for the ticket. For the PP-183 ticket, former MPA and former Renala Khurd tehsil nazim Akram Bhatti, former distirct council member Arif Lashari, Atif Bhatti, Waqar Lashari and Mahr Javed Bhonana are vying for the ticket.

For NA-142, Rao Hassan Sikandar, son of Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Rao Khalid Mustafa Khan and Hassan Bukhari, son of Samsam Bukhari, have applied for ticket. The NA seat has PP-188 and PP-189 under it.

For PP-188, the applicants are former tehsil nazim Rao Jameel Akhtar, Ali Jibran Bhupal, former UC nazim Imtiaz Bodla, UC chairman Rao Muhammad Ashraf, Chaudhry Kashif Warraich, Shazia Ahmed, Rao Khalil Akhtar and Rao Abdul Khaliq have applied for the party ticket. Similarly, for PP-189, former provincial minister Ashraf Sohna, Azhar Mehmood, trader leader Chaudhry Saleem, Shazia Ahmad, Muhammad Ahmed, Rana Fida and Raheel Kamyana are trying their luck.

For NA-143, the ticket is being sought by Abbas Rizvi, Rao Safdar, former MNA Gulzar Sibtain, Rauf Dola, Ali Abbas Gillani and Shehryar Moakkal. For PP-184, Nabi Khokhar, Amjad Dola and Malik Yawer have applied for the ticket. Similarly, for PP-185, Samsam Bukhari, Gulzar Sibtain, Maratab Kirmani and Chaudhry Ayaz Nasir have applied for the ticket.

For NA-144, applicants are Ali Haider Wattoo, Fayyaz Wattoo, Waqar Naul, Naheed Sardar and Chaudhry Khadim Hussain. Former MPA Dewan Ikhlaq, Ghulam Rasool, Javed Mahar and Ali Haider Wattoo have applied for PP-187. Similarly, for PP-186, Rasool Wattoo and Javed Iqbal Wattoo have applied for the party ticket.
