LAKKI MARWAT: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district chapter leaders and councillors have endorsed the decision of party leadership to forge an electoral alliance with Marwat Ittehad, headed by Saifullah brothers, for coming general elections.

During a meeting held at Tajazai here on Wednesday with district naib nazim Arab Khan in the chair, the participants stressed the need for forging unity in party ranks at local level to run a campaign for victory of PTI-backed candidates.

PTI councillors Mohammad Halim, Shafqatullah and Naseer Khan, district vice-president Mohammad Iqbal and Daud Khan attended the meeting where the speakers said that they supported the decision taken by the party’s central leadership. They also decided to launch the party’s election campaign.

“The circumstances are favourable for PTI as people want change,” they claimed. Speaking at the meeting, Arab Khan said that JUI-F MPAs had failed to deliver during last five years. He hoped that people would back PTI candidates in coming polls to pave the way for implementing the vision of Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, a PTI leader Barrister Sher Afzal Marwat rejected the offer of Saifullah brothers to contest election from National Assembly constituency of NA-36.

Mr Marwat claimed that Osman Saifullah Khan would be the joint candidate of PTI and Marwat Ittehad for NA-36. He said that he would support PTI candidates in coming general elections.
