LAHORE: PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi says caretaker Chief Minister Prof Hasan Askari is the most educated chief minister of the history of Punjab and he will take impartial decisions to hold free and fair elections.

“The N-League is afraid of transparent elections and it is opposing Prof Askari only because it wanted a caretaker chief minister of its choice so that it could manipulate the elections like it did in 2013,” Mr Elahi said on Friday after he called Mr Askari and felicitated him for assuming the office.

Mr Elahi said Prof Askari’s analysis and comments reflected his neutral thinking and patriotism and even the common man gave importance to his views. He said the N-League was afraid of the National Accountability Bureau on the one hand and on the other did not want to see a neutral caretaker chief minister where Shahbaz Sharif ruled for 10 years and burdened it with a loan of billions.
