THATTA, May 29: Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said that 13,500 megawatt electricity is being produced in the country. He said the surplus power can only be utilized after replacing old power lines and streamlining the power supply system.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, he announced waiver of 80 per cent dues for power consumers if they agreed to pay 20 per cent and settle their accounts.

He also announced 50 transformers and electrification of 40 villages in the district.—BoC
